Christmas tree stands for churches and parishes: what to look for
A tall tree by the altar and a crowd of worshippers at Midnight Mass. We explain how a church stand differs from a domestic one and how to order several models at once.

What a church tree needs
A church tree is usually bigger than one at home, and it stands where people walk past: by the altar, by the nativity scene, on the way to communion. At Midnight Mass the area around the tree is crowded, and children come up to look at the decorations. A church stand therefore has to meet three conditions:
- hold a tall tree with a thick trunk without tying it off or weighing it down with stones,
- not open by accident when someone knocks into the tree,
- have a reservoir that lasts several days without topping up, because the tree stays in the church for the whole Christmas period.
Lever lock and stability
KAMAI stands clamp the trunk with a lever and the one-cable system. You lock the lever once the tree is in position, so the mechanism will not open if the tree is knocked. The base is wide and weighted, and the one-cable mechanism is steel.
The test videos show the difference: an ordinary plastic stand tips over with a light push, while a tree in a KAMAI stand stays put.
A large tree without trimming the trunk
Churches often put up trees 3–4.5 m tall. Their trunks are thick and uneven, and in screw-type stands they have to be trimmed down. The KAMAI SELECT 4.5 stand takes trunks from 5 to 17 cm and trees up to 4.5 m — the tree goes up without cutting and without extra tools.
Water and the level indicator
Reservoirs hold 2 to 6.3 l, depending on the model. The water level indicator shows when to top up, so the verger or sacristan does not have to look under the tree every day. A well-watered tree holds its needles for longer, and no water spills onto the floor.
Which model for which spot
| Location | Tree | Model |
|---|---|---|
| Presbytery, chapel | up to 2 m | KAMAI START 2.0 |
| Parish hall, larger chapel | up to 2.5 m | KAMAI START 2.5 |
| Church, tree beside the altar | up to 3 m | KAMAI START 3.0 |
| Larger churches, porch | up to 3.5 m | KAMAI SELECT 3.5 |
| Nave, tree outside the church | up to 4.5 m | KAMAI SELECT 4.5 |
All models come with a 5-year warranty and TÜV Thüringen certificate.
Indoors and outdoors
KAMAI stands are made for use indoors and outdoors. The polypropylene body, ABS hooks and steel mechanism withstand frost and damp, so the stand can also go outside the church or in the presbytery grounds.
Setting up the tree before the service
A church tree usually goes up a day or two before Christmas, often with the help of parishioners. With the lever and the one-cable system it looks like this:
- Put the stand in its final position before you carry the tree in.
- Push the tree onto the spike in the centre of the stand. With tall trees two people help: one holds, the other clamps.
- Hold the tree upright and clamp the trunk with the lever; if it leans, release, straighten and clamp again.
- Lock the lever and fill with water up to the indicator.
You do not need a saw, an axe or guy ropes.
Have this ready before you order
- the number of trees and the height of each,
- the locations: inside the church, in a chapel, at the presbytery or outside the entrance,
- the date by which the stands need to arrive,
- invoice details and the delivery address.
With this information we will match the models and prepare an offer.
How to order stands for a parish
- Different models in one order. One stand for the presbytery and several large ones for the church ship together, including on a MIX pallet.
- No minimum order. You can order one stand or several dozen.
- Ordering: by phone (+48 12 307 28 21), by e-mail (biuro@kamai.pl) or in the B2B panel.
- Dispatch: orders placed by 12:00 on working days usually ship the same day — order before Advent so the tree is up in time.
- Catalogue: the KAMAI tree stand catalogue (PDF) is available without logging in and covers all START and SELECT models.
Wholesale prices are visible once you log in to the B2B panel or in the offer we send by e-mail.
