Christmas tree stands test

Every year we look forward to the moment when we can decorate our Christmas tree. Although it seems like pure pleasure, in the rush of pre-Christmas preparations, every moment saved is worth its weight in gold. So how can we make this traditional activity not only quick, but also guarantee that our tree will stand securely, stay fresh and not lose needles throughout the holidays? The secret is choosing the perfect stand.

With your comfort in mind, we tested various Christmas tree stands available online. Our goal was to show the differences and advantages of each of them to make it easier for you to choose tailored to your individual needs.

In the test, we compared the following types of stands:

🟢 Plastic stands with wide legs and plastic screws
🔵 Plastic stands with round base and plastic screws
🟣 Metal/aluminum decorative stands with metal screws
🔴 Self-clamping Christmas tree stands with clamping lever by Kamai®

📌 Important information:
In each stand, we tested identical trees from the same farm.

We chose two types of trees:
1. A tree with a medium-sized trunk and a height of approx. 2 meters.
2. A tree with a larger trunk and a height of approx. 2,5 meters.

💰 Price:
– Price range: from PLN 35 to approximately PLN 80.
The price depends on:
– Stand dimensions
– Plastic quality
– These are mainly products imported from China by various distributors.

🎨 Aesthetics:
– The stand we purchased was a festive shade of green.
– The screws had an elegant color imitating metal, but made of delicate plastic (resembling children's blocks)
– The overall aesthetics of the stand are quite okay

💧 Water tank:
– Very small tank. Literally for "a few drops"
– No full indicator. Be careful not to overflow the water.
– it is best to set a notification on your phone every 4-5 hours to water the Christmas tree so that the needles do not start to dry out and lose their scent

🌳 Trunk Fit:
– The hole for the trunk has fixed dimensions.
– If the trunk is too small: problems with screw clamping.
– If the trunk is too big: it won't fit in the hole.
– Installing the Christmas tree required the involvement of two people.
– The screws were not able to tighten the trunk tightly.

⚠️ Stamina problem:
– The plastic legs started to bend while assembling the Christmas tree.
– The legs broke when the Christmas tree was slightly rocked, causing it to fall.
– Despite the attractive price (PLN 35-80), the stand may turn out to be a one-time purchase. There is a risk of breakage even when moving a decorated Christmas tree.

❗ Final remarks:
– Due to the damage to the stand during testing, we were not able to check the process of removing the Christmas tree from it.

💰 Price:
– Price range: from PLN 30 to PLN 60.
The price depends on:
– Rack size
– Plastic quality
-These are mass-produced products in Chinese factories.

🌳 Trunk Fit:
– Fixed size of the trunk hole.
– If the trunk is too big: it won't fit in the hole.
– The trunk is pressed with plastic screws that do not have a sharp end.
– Kamai stands (described at the end) do not have any problems with fitting.

🎨 Aesthetics:
– Made of low-quality plastic: thin, flexible, pliable.
– Green color: faded and not very festive.
– Recommended to purchase a Christmas cover for the stand to hide it.

💧 Water tank:
– No tank: the Christmas tree dries out quickly and loses its festive charm.

⚠️ Stability:
– The Christmas tree in the stand is not stable.
– A deformed base causes the Christmas tree to wobble.
– Seller's recommendation: add weight to the stand (e.g. with sand) for greater stability.

📌 Our opinion:
– The biggest advantage: low price.
– Poor quality of workmanship: product for 1-2 seasons.
– Setting up a Christmas tree is difficult and dangerous: there is a risk of it falling over and damaging the furniture.

❗ NOTE:
– The stand does not hold the Christmas tree stably!
– Risk of tipping over, especially with children and animals.
– Be careful, especially around a Christmas tree with lights connected.

Personally, we were horrified by this product and we have a negative attitude towards it. We think he is very dangerous. Especially if there are animals or children in the household. Why? Here are the reasons.

🚫 Poor quality:
– Made in cheap Chinese factories, these stands are mass-produced and their quality leaves much to be desired.
– The price ranges from PLN 30 to PLN 60, but is it worth risking safety at such a price?

⚠️ Fit problem:
– The constant size of the trunk hole makes it difficult to fit the tree to the stand.
– If the trunk is too big, you won't fit it in the stand. And if it's too small, the plastic screws won't be able to hold it steady.

🤦️️ Bad design:
– The stand is made of thin and flexible plastic that deforms easily.
– The lack of a water tank means that the Christmas tree dries quickly and loses its festive glow.

⚠️ Danger:
– The Christmas tree does not stand stable in such a stand. A deformed stand may cause the tree to wobble.
– There is a risk that the Christmas tree will fall, damaging valuable items in the house or endangering the safety of children and pets.

- Attention! There are cheaper, mass-produced products from China that only imitate handmade products.

Our purchased stand:
– Price: approximately PLN 170.
– Polish producer.
- High quality.
– Noble colors (black and gold).

🌳 Trunk Fit:
– It is important to match the trunk to the diameter of the hole in the stand.
– Otherwise, you may need to cut the tree trunk or purchase a larger model.
- shoe: The screws were sharpened, which allowed for a better grip on the Christmas tree trunk than in plastic models.

💧 Water tank:
– A small tank.
– No indicator informing about filling. Be careful not to spill water
- Suggestion: Set a notification on your phone to water your Christmas tree every few hours

⚠️ Issues:
– The Christmas tree was crooked.
– The metal legs have bent slightly during use.
– Pulling out the Christmas tree was problematic - the trunk was stuck in the stand. It took two people to pull it out.

📌 General Notes:
– Aesthetically, it stands out compared to plastic competitors.
– Best for small trees with a delicate trunk.
– When purchasing stands without a self-clamping mechanism, it is worth having a measuring tape to accurately measure the trunk.

– If your tree has a trunk that is too large, it may need to be hewn to fit into the stand opening.
